The Sustainability & Responsibility Award recognises distilleries or other operators demonstrating leadership in environmentally sustainable practices and responsible business operations.
This award celebrates practical initiatives that reduce environmental impact, strengthen community relationships or improve workplace wellbeing. Judges will assess initiatives relative to the scale and resources of the business, recognising that meaningful change can occur at any size.
Who should enter?
Open to financial ADA members.
Entries must relate to an initiative, program or improvement implemented within the past 24 months.
Examples may include:
- energy efficiency improvements
- water management initiatives
- waste reduction or circular production
- sustainable sourcing of ingredients
- packaging improvements
- workplace wellbeing initiatives
- responsible marketing practices
- community engagement projects
- industry initiatives
- research projects
Judges will consider:
- Environmental or social impact
- Measurable outcomes
- Commitment and long-term vision
- Leadership relative to scale
Entry includes:

- a brief distillery overview
- a description of the initiative
- outcomes and impact
- future commitment
- optional supporting evidence
